Grassroots Day Resource CenterThe fourth Saturday of every month finds many New Hope members serving breakfast at the day resource center for the homeless in Howard County. New Hope also provides supplies for the center and its food pantry. The Day Center provides a hot meal, shower facilities, laundry, food and clothing pantries, health care and social services 3 days a week for 4 hours a day.
Blessing Bags for the HomelessWe fill bags of food and other needed items for our members to hand to people in need on the street.
Cold Weather ShelterThe Grassroots Emergency Shelter volunteers are very excited about the opportunity to host the Cold Weather Shelter (CWS) in December 2024. They thank each of all helpers for being a part of the Cold Weather Shelter.
Below is some information about volunteering at the CWS. Volunteering - Cold Weather Shelter volunteers must be 15 years or older. Agree to a background check receive a Covid & flu vaccine or wear a mask while inside the Shelter. A confidential agreement must also be signed. Please indicate what day/s, & time/s you are requesting, and specify that you are from the New Hope Lutheran Church Congregation within the "remarks" section. Little Free LibraryThere are two libraries on our property, one for children and one for adults, where people can take a book or leave a book.
Salvation ArmyEach year the New Hope community adopts 50 children angels and 50 senior angels for Christmas.
