BERT Update - At a congregational meeting held earlier this summer, we decided to go ahead with a building project that would increase worship seating by 50%, and make the whole building more comfortable and more welcoming. The architects will soon begin a more intense period of work on this project, with a scale model to be available early in 2020. A capital campaign will begin a month or two later, with the goal of raising perhaps half of the $1.5 million needed. Please send comments and questions to BERT@newhopelutheran.org.
Global Hope Rehearsal- (3rd Mondays @ 7:30p): No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn and share your gifts!
Handbell Choir Rehearsal - (Thursdays @ 6:30p): No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn and share your gifts! For 6th grade and up.
Choir Rehearsal - (Thursdays @ 7:30p): Open to all singers 6th grade and up. We look forward to hearing you. If you would like to get more information, contact David Fanning, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Scent Sensitive - We have members and visitors who are scent sensitive. You can help us in our goal of being open and accommodating to all who wish to worship with us by being scent aware. As a scent sensitive community, we request that members and visitors refrain from wearing perfume/cologne, after-shave, scented lotion, and body powder inside the building as a first step in our efforts toward achieving a fragrance-free environment.
Tuesday Morning Craft Group - Come join us to knit, crochet, craft, talk, and enjoy yourself! We have projects at church you can help with, or bring your own project to work on. Don’t know how to knit or crochet? We can help with that too! The Tuesday morning craft group meet on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 10 am.
Pocket Prayer Squares and Crosses: We now have pocket prayer squares that you can give to someone to keep with them all the time. They are pocket size and can slide in a pocket or purse to carry God’s love and warmth with you all day. They are located in a basket on the ushers table in the narthex. Want to help make prayer squares? See Kathy Piet.
Friends Helping Friends (FHF) is one of our programs to provide assistance when you need a helping hand: rides, shopping, light housework and yard work, meals, and the like. FHF is also looking for more members to join up to help fellow congregation members in need. Sign up in the narthex or by emailing Peggy Johnson (BobandPeg82@comcast.net).
